We are now meeting for regular scheduled 2025 season work weekly. Use the link above or at the bottom of the page to sign up via our Signup Genius page. Early season at the garden is time for planting crops, continuing to work raised beds, and preparing the garden in general for our core harvest work in late spring through fall.
Our mission is to increase food security by growing fresh produce. We have two acres with three fields and a raised bed section. As an all volunteer organization, we work together to grow fresh produce for Second Harvest Food Bank and Samaritan Ministries, both of which serve the underserved population in our area.
Since 1998, we have operated as an all volunteer organization. We usually have about ten people who come to help on one of our three work times per week. Our volunteers are usually from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County area although we also have volunteers from other counties in NC, and other states.
We grow about 20 different vegetables and have raised beds as well as "in the ground" crops. In addition to serving those challenged by hunger, we believe in sustainable practices, creating community and educating people about growing food. You do not need to have any gardening experience.
